WESTERN HIGHLIGHTS | RV trip west :- RV trip west coast.

This route on the West Coast is the best known route. That’s because you will find a lot of different things on this route. You will find big cities, small towns, beautiful nature and roads where you can drive for hours without meeting anyone else. All these different things make this route really special and popular. We made a schedule for this route. This trip will take 28 or 29 days.  You will find the schedule underneath here.

Schedule:
– Day 1
Pick up the RV in San Francisco. When you’ve picked up your RV you will drive to Stockton. This Drive is about 90 miles. (You can also decide to begin your trip with a day in San Francisco a day earlier)
– Day 2
You will drive to Yosemite National Park. This drive is about 155 miles.
-Day 3
You have the whole day to visit Yosemite National Park.
-Day 4
When you have left Yosemite National Park you are heading to Kings Canyon National Park. This drive is about 160 miles.
-Day 5
On this day you will visit Kings Canyon Park. When you’ve seen everything you’re going to continue your trip by driving to Sequoia National Park. This drive is about 110 miles.
-Day 6
This is a long day. You are going to drive to Las Vegas. This drive is about 350 miles so you will be driving the whole day.
-Day 7
You will visit the spectacular city Las Vegas! You have the whole day to enjoy this amazing city.
The next stop is Zion National Park. This drive is about 170 miles. On the same day you need to visit the National Park.
-Day 9
After you left Zion National Park you will be heading to Bryce Canyon National Park. This drive is about 100 miles.
-Day 10
On this day you will also visit a National Park. After a drive of 100 miles you will arrive in Capital Reef National Park.
-Day 11
You will be heading to Moab on this day. The drive will be about 195 miles.
-Day 12
After a short drive (50 miles) you will have the whole day to visit Arches National Park.
-Day 13
On this day you will visit Canyon lands National Park. One of the fun things to do in this park is to make a ride in a jeep. You can rent those jeeps in the park. The drive to the national park is about 140 miles.
-Day 14
Today you will drive to Monument Valley. The drive is about 165 miles.
-Day 15
This is a relaxed day. You will have the whole day to drive to Page and Lake Powell. Make some nice stops on the way and take it easy. The drive is about 100 miles.
-Day 16
This day is also relaxed. You will have the whole day to visit Page and Lake Powell. Take the time and enjoy.
-Day 17
Today you are heading to Grand Canyon National Park. The drive is quite long, about 210 miles. Take enough stops on the way.
-Day 18
You still need to drive about 90 miles to Grand Canyon National Park. When you have arrived in the park you will have the whole day to look around.
-Day 19
On this day you will not drive on a normal road. You will drive over a part of the famous Route 66! You are heading to Kingman. The drive is about 140 miles.
-Day 20
This is a busy day. You will drive to Joshua Tree National Park. Today you will also visit the park. This is a drive about 210 miles.
-Day 21
You are heading to San Diego today! This is a day full of driving. So take all the time you need. The drive is about 170 miles.
-Day 22
You have the whole day to visit San Diego. One of the things you need to see is Sea World. With all the spectacular shows you will have a wonderful day.
-Day 23
Today you will drive to Los Angeles. You will drive on a coast road. The view is amazing. Take some stops if you see a nice beach. The drive is about 165 miles.
-Day 24
No driving today! you will visit Los Angeles, Universal Studios and Hollywood. You can also decide to pay a visit to Santa Monica.
-Day 25
You are heading to Santa Margarita. And again you will drive on a coast road. The drive is long on this day. You will drive about 245 miles.
-Day 26
Today you will drive to Santa Cruz. The drive is about 180 miles. The route has breath taking views.
-Day 27
The trip is almost over. You are heading to San Francisco. The drive is only 75 miles so you will have enough time to visit San Francisco.
-Day 28
You need to bring back your RV. After you did that you can stay in San Francisco or go straight to home.

You can drive this route counter clock wise. The big advantage of this is that you will drive on the right side of the coast roads. That makes it easier to make a stop at a nice small beach along the way.

You can also make a change in the normal route. This map is an example of another route. You can also make another route and visit different things. Make sure that you have a map of the area where you are going to drive with your RV. Then you can also decide during your trip to visit other things.
