ROCKY MOUNTAINS ROUTE 1

On this page we will describe an example route for a RV trip in the Rocky Mountains! This route is only a suggestion, you can change it or combine it with an other route. This example RV trip will take 20 days. The trip will take you to a couple of amazing national parks en you will visit some big cities to. It’s a lovely route if you love nature, but you want to combine that with some visits to different cities.

-Day 1
Pick up your RV in Denver. You will have the rest of the day to explore Denver. Tomorrow you will start your real trip.

-Day 2
Today you will drive to Rocky Mountains National Park. The drive is about 100 miles. When you have arrived in the national park you will have the rest of the day to enjoy the national park.

Day 3
This day will lead you to Cheyenne. This drive is also about 100 miles. When you are in Cheyenne you can relax and enjoy the city.

-Day 4
Today you need to drive a lot more than the days before, the drive is about 300 miles and this day will lead you to Scotts Bluff National Monument.

 

 

-Day 5
Today you will drive to Wind Cave National Park in Rapid City. The drive is about 285 miles. If you leave early you will have enough time to enjoy the national park.

-Day 6
Today you will visit the Crazy Horse Memorial in Custer State Park. The drive is about 120 miles.

-Day 7
Today you will visit Badlands National Park in Rapid City. The drive is about 175 miles.

-Day 8
Today you will visit Mount Rushmore National Memorial in Sheridan. The drive is about 300 miles.

-Day 9
Today you will visit Buffalo Bill Center in Cody. The drive is about 160 miles.

-Day 10
Today you will visit Yellowstone National Park.The drive is about 160 miles.

-Day 11 and 12
On these days you will still be in Yellowstone National Park. You need to drive a little bit through the park. On these two days you will drive about 120 miles, but you can decide when you want to drive.

-Day 13, 14 and 15
On these days you will visit Grand Teton National Park. You will stay here for a few days, but you still need to drive a little bit. The drive to the national park is 90 miles and on day 14 and 15 you need to drive 120 miles in total.

-Day 16
Today you will visit Jackson. The drive is about 60 miles.

 

 

-Day 17
Today you will visit Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area in Rock Springs. The drive is about 230 miles.

-Day 18
Today you will visit the Dinosaur National Monument. It’s a very short drive because the national monument is close to Flaming Gorge National Monument.

-Day 19
You are heading back to Denver. The drive is about 340 miles. you will have the rest of the day to enjoy Denver.

-Day 20
You need to return your RV today and this means that it is the end of your RV trip.
