BORDER TO BORDER ROUTE 3

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThis route is a border to border route, but it’s almost a coast to coast route to! A fun route combining nature, big cities, peace and quiet with hectic and no mans land. A great route for the whole family! We advise to really take your time on this route because it’s a long one and again we encourage you to make some changes of your own to make it your own unique RV trip!

-Day 1
Today you will pick up your RV in San Diego. Your real trip starts tomorrow so enjoy San Diego, visit Sea World San Diego or just relax on the campground.

-Day 2
Today your trip starts and your first deastination will be Joshua Tree National Park. The drive is about 150 miles and that should take you about 2 hours and 40 minutes.

You are heading to Phoenix today! The drive is long today, 300 miles and that should take you about 4 hours and 30 minutes.

-Day 4
After a long day of driving you’ve deserved a day rest so you will have the whole day to explore Phoenix!

-Day 5
Flagstaff is your next destination. The drive is about 145 miles long and it should take you about 2 hours and 20 minutes.

-Day 6
Today you are heading towards Albuquerque! The drive is 325 miles long and that should take you about 4 hours and 40 minutes.

-Day 7santafe
Today just a short drive because your destination is Santa Fe! The drive is only 60 miles long and that shouldn’t take you more then 1 hour.

-Day 8
You are headins towards more nature: Rio Grande National Forest is your next destination. The drive is about 170 miles long and that should take you about 3 hours.

-Day 9
Today you are heading to Denver! The drive is 220 miles long and that should take you about 4 hours.

-Day 10
Today you won’t have to drive, you can enjoy Denver the rest of the day!

-Day 11
You are leaving Denver for the Rocky Mountains National Park. The drive is only 70 miles long and that should take you about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Your destination is Kansas City, but that drive is to long so you will make a stop in Hays. There is a great KOA campground just before you enter Hays so you could spend the night there. For more information about this KOA campground you can visit the website of KOA WaKeeney  / Hays. You can relax at the campground or go and explore Hays. The drive is about 370 miles and that should take you  5 hours and 20 minutes.

-Day 13
Today you will reach Kansas City! The drive is about 290 miles and that should take you 4 hours and 5 minutes.

-Day 14
You will have the whole day to enjoy Kansas City!

-Day 15
Today you are heading to St. Louis and the drive is about 250 miles and that should take you 3 hours and 40 minutes.

chicago-Day 16
You are leaving St. Louis behind and you are heading for Chicago! The drive is about 300 miles long and that should take you 4 hours and 40 minutes.

-Day 17
Explore and enjoy Chicago the rest of the day.

-Day 18
You are driving to probably your last destination on this trip: Detroit! The drive is about 280 miles and it should take you about 4 hours and 20 minutes.

-Day 19
You will have the rest of the day to enjoy Detroit and return your RV unless…:

Possibility to expand the trip

toronto-Day 20
With most RV rental ocmpanies it is allowed to enter Canada and if that’s something you want to do this is your opportunity: Your next destination could be Toronto! The drive would be about 230 miles and that should take you 3 hours and 55 minutes. Inform with your RV rental company if crossing the border is allowed and what the regulations are.

The choice is yours: Let your trip end in Detroit or Toronto. Inform with your RV rental company!!
