The park

Fort De Soto Park is a beautiful green park and there are lovely beaches. The first impression of the park is not really great it seems a bit simple but you can do really all kind of things in the park. You could go fishing, kayaking, take the ferry to Egmont Key or you could search for special shells on the beach.
The nature is all around you in Fort De Soto Park and there are no buildings in the area. If you visit the park in months that there are not many tourists than the change is big that it is really quiet on the beach. You can reach the park easily with your RV. You don’t have to pay for parking.
You could visit the historic fort here. The fort is being refurbished in 2011 and is temporarily closed. You could visit all the different beaches or you could make a beautiful hike. There are different tours in the park to watch all the special birds and plants.
There are different facilities. There is a nice playground for children, there are pick nick places and there are showers to so you can wash yourself after swimming in the sea.


Campground Fort De Soto Park

You can find this campground at the front of the park. There are normal campsites and campsites with a beautiful sea view. The prices are for the campsites are: normal campsite 1 May through 31 December $39.20 the price for a sea view campsite is $41.44 and the prices for 1 January through 30 April $43.13 for a normal campsite and for a sea view campsite $45.37. This campground has a shop, pick nick places, barbecue facilities. water, electricity, a dump station and showers and toilets.
The campground does not reserve 100% of there campsites so walk up customers have a campsite to and that’s really nice if you are traveling with your RV!
