SANTA FE

History of Santa Fe

Santa Fe is the capital city of the state New Mexico. The city is the fourth largest city of the state. The city was founded between 1050 and 1150 and the city had a different name the full name was: ‘La Villa Real de la Santa Fe de San Fransisco de Asis’. If you translate this it means: The Royal Town of the Holy Faith of St. Francis of Assisi. The region where Santa Fe was in was a colony of New Spain. Mexico was also a colony of Spain so it isn’t strange that the state is called New Mexico. The city was independent in 1824.

Enough about history now.
