About the city

People lived in the area of Jacksonville for thousands of years. Pottery was found here and the pottery was estimated to be 4500 years old. European explorers arrived here for first time in 1562 and it were the French. Later on multiple Europeans wanted this area so forts were built¬† and there have been different fights over this area.
